Introduction to FTP

What is FTP?

FTP is the language that allows computers to share and transfer files over the internet. The easiest way to transfer files is to use an FTP client. There are many FTP clients available, depending on what type of computer you are using.

A few examples:
Windows Clients:

• Filezilla
• CuteFTP
• WS FTP Pro

Mac OS X Clients:

• Fetch
• Transmit
• Filezilla

One can also navigate an FTP server with a web browser, but that is not as easy as using an FTP client.
If you want to view the content of your FTP, you may view it from your .html file that you uploaded on the file manager using an FTP connection.
